Setting up your Homepage
What follows are instructions for setting up your personal (non-commercial) web page on NetNet's server. If you would like a commercial web page for your business
or service, please contact our Sales Department at 617-6700 or sales@netnet.net for information on pricing and
programming options.
1.) The first thing that you will need to do is to log in using an ftp program such as WS_FTP or Fetch (Mac). If you don't have one of these programs, there are
available for download from our Software page Make sure that the address your connecting to is netnet.net and that you use your username
and password to log in.
2.) Now after you get connected you will need to click on the MkDir button (WS_FTP) as shown or click on the pull-down menu Directories and select Create New Directory
(Fetch).
3.) You will then be prompted to enter in the name of the directory that you want to create, enter in 'pub_html' as shown below.
4.) You should now see the directory called pub_html. Double click on the pub_html folder to change into the directory, this is where all the files/directories for
your web page will go.
5.) Now it is time to upload the files. When you upload text files such as your .html file, make sure that you upload it as an ASCII file, if its an image file such
as a .gif or .jpg file then binary should be selected. If you are transfering a bunch of different files in one shot or are unsure what to select, then select auto.
Select the files you want to upload and click on the arrow pointing to the right (WS_FTP). For Fetch just select the files you want to upload and drag them to Fetch.
6.) After the files have finished transfering you will be able to view your web page at this address http://netnet.net/~yourusername/
